The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs building has sustained damage for the first time since World War II as a result of Russia's attack on Kyiv
The building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Kyiv was damaged as a result of a Russian missile and drone strike on May 24.
This was reported by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.
According to him, the damage was minor, caused by explosions near the building, including damage to windows. At the same time, it was emphasized that this is the first instance of damage to the Foreign Ministry building since World War II.
Sybiga noted that the Russian strikes were directed, in particular, at the historic center of Kyiv, and called this yet another indication of the nature of Russia’s aggression.
“Looking at the shattered windows this morning, I can say with complete confidence on behalf of our entire diplomatic team: Russian terrorists will not stop us. Ukrainian diplomacy will continue to effectively carry out its tasks, resist Russian aggression, and bring peace closer,” the minister said.
Despite the damage, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to operate as usual.
