U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his political party’s re-election in the parliamentary elections and assured him of Washington’s continued support.
In his statement, Rubio emphasized that the United States supports Armenia and its leadership in their efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
“We are committed to advancing the goals of the historic Washington Peace Summit, including the implementation of the ‘Trump Roadmap to International Peace and Prosperity’ (TRIPP). We look forward to working together to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus and beyond,” Rubio stated.
Washington is counting on further cooperation with Pashinyan’s government, particularly on issues of regional security, peaceful conflict resolution, and the development of economic ties.
The statement by the head of U.S. diplomacy served as a signal of support for Pashinyan’s new political mandate, as well as a confirmation of U.S. interest in strengthening stability in the South Caucasus.
