Gasoline prices in Ukraine have started to fall: experts predict that prices at gas stations will drop to 5 hryvnia per liter

Ukrainian gas station chains have begun gradually lowering prices for A-95 gasoline. As of June 9, the average price of gasoline is 75.45 UAH per liter, which is 2 kopecks less than the day before.

Experts predict that gasoline prices could drop by another 1–2 UAH per liter this week. If conditions on the global oil market remain favorable, the potential for price reductions could reach 4–5 UAH per liter.

The main reason cited for the decline in fuel prices is the drop in global oil prices amid expectations of a de-escalation of the conflict between the U.S. and Iran.

At the end of last week, August Brent crude oil futures fell by 2.04% to $93.09 per barrel. At the same time, July WTI futures fell by 2.69% to $90.54 per barrel.

Prices on the wholesale market remain relatively stable. As of June 5, the average wholesale price of gasoline was 71.65 UAH per liter, which is 20 kopecks less than on June 3.

According to Dmitry Lyushkin, founder of the Prime Group of Companies, current oil prices are creating the conditions for further price reductions for gasoline at Ukrainian gas stations.

According to the A-95 Consulting Group, major chains are currently selling A-95 gasoline in the range of 69.85 to 78.99 UAH per liter. The highest prices are recorded at Grand Petrol stations, while the lowest are at the Brent Oil chain.

The NBU has cited reasons why fuel prices in Ukraine are not falling despite the drop in oil prices.

Russia is considering raising fuel prices to finance the protection of oil refineries.
