Mudra called for the transfer of Russian assets to Ukraine and for the establishment of a tribunal to be expedited
Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, called on partner countries to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine and to expedite the establishment of an international tribunal and a compensation mechanism for those affected by the war.
She published her statement on Facebook following another massive Russian attack on Kyiv.
Mudra emphasized that Russia’s strikes on civilian infrastructure constitute a deliberate policy of state terrorism directed against the civilian population.
“Kyiv has once again endured a night of Russian terror. Rockets and drones flew over residential neighborhoods, over people, over children, over a city that Russia is trying to break through fear,” she wrote.
According to her, Russia must face not only political condemnation but also real legal accountability—a tribunal, convictions, asset forfeiture, and multi-billion-dollar compensation for the victims.
Mudra also stated that Russia’s frozen assets must be transferred to Ukraine immediately to rebuild destroyed cities and support affected families.
“Partner countries must finally ask themselves honestly: how much longer will Russian money sit in Western banks while Ukrainians pull children from under the rubble?” she noted.
Separately, the official emphasized the need to launch a special international tribunal and a compensation commission as soon as possible, calling it a “matter of honor” for Ukraine.
