Border guards assessed the threat of an incursion from Belarus

No build-up of Russian strike forces ready for a renewed invasion or large-scale provocations has been observed on Belarusian territory near the Ukrainian border. There has also been no reported activity by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups in this area

This was reported on air during a national telethon by Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. According to him, despite the absence of an immediate threat of an offensive, the Defense Forces continue to strengthen their defensive positions along the entire line of demarcation.

At the same time, an increase in mine and explosive barriers is being observed on the Belarusian side along the most vulnerable sections to prevent the movement of military equipment. Additionally, Russia regularly uses Belarusian airspace to launch drones over Ukrainian territory.

Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, held a meeting on military equipment and announced the preparation of a new state armament program for 2026–2030.
