Doctors in Kropyvnytskyi were caught issuing false diagnoses
Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have exposed the head of the cardiology department and an endocrinologist at the Central City Hospital in Kropyvnytskyi, who are suspected of facilitating the fraudulent issuance of medical documents. According to the investigation, the medical professionals allegedly helped conscripts obtain fictitious diagnoses, specifically hypertension and diabetes, in exchange for a bribe of approximately $11,500.
In March 2026, the State Bureau of Investigation detained their accomplices—a serviceman from one of the military units and a former deputy of the city’s district council.
For $11,500, clients were offered several options for obtaining a status of unfit for military service.
Men could be hospitalized or undergo medical examinations followed by the issuance of fabricated diagnoses, including hypertension or diabetes, the SBI specifies.
