Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on his international contacts following the massive Russian strike on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine.

The head of state wrote about this on Facebook after visiting the hardest-hit areas in the capital.

Zelenskyy noted that he had already spoken with French President Emmanuel Macron and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and also announced further talks with other international partners.

“I have already spoken with the President of France and the Prime Minister of Norway. There will be further communication with our partners today. Thank you to everyone who is speaking out about what Russia is doing. They are waging war only against our people, against our memory, our history, and against everything that constitutes a normal human life. It is important that Russia understands that they will be held accountable for all these crimes,” the president stated.

Prior to this, Zelenskyy visited the areas in Kyiv that were hardest hit by the nighttime attack.

According to him, Russian troops launched their main strike on residential areas of the capital and also damaged schools, historic buildings, and cultural heritage sites.

Separately, the president reported significant damage to infrastructure.

“They burned down the food market—one of Kyiv’s oldest markets. The Russian strike effectively destroyed the Chernobyl Museum, damaged the National Art Museum, and the building that housed the office of Germany’s ARD,” Zelenskyy noted.

As of now, 69 people are known to have been injured and two killed in Kyiv as a result of the attack.

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reacted to the large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on May 24 and condemned the use of the “Oreshnik” missile.

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, reacted sharply to Russia’s use of the “Oreshnik” missile during the attack on Ukraine.
