Ukrainian Armed Forces drones cut off the Russians from a strategically important route
The Russian military command has closed the strategic R-280 highway, which connects occupied Mariupol with Simferopol.
From now on, this logistics route will be used exclusively for the needs of the occupying army.
The main reason for this decision was the establishment of effective fire control over the road by the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces.
The closure of this vital transport corridor was officially announced by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi. According to him, the new strict restrictions on vehicle traffic took effect on June 7, 2026.
Systematic and precise strikes by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have made travel on this highway critically dangerous for the invaders.
The constant destruction of equipment forced the enemy leadership to take emergency security measures.
The successful actions of Ukrainian drone operators have led to a sharp drop in military transport volumes on this section of the front.
As Brovdi noted, traffic on the highway dropped by 71% in just two weeks: “While about 3,800 enemy trucks used to pass through the route daily, that number has now fallen to approximately 1,100.”
