A rehabilitation center for children with disabilities in Kyiv was damaged in a Russian attack
As a result of the massive Russian shelling of Kyiv on the night of May 24, key social infrastructure facilities in the capital were damaged. The Kyiv City Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities and the premises of the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Children and Family Affairs were hit.

Due to a powerful blast wave, the rehabilitation center building sustained significant damage. Over 100 windows were shattered at the facility, and all entrance doors were damaged.
Fortunately, a tragedy was averted, as the shelling occurred on a weekend and there were no children at the center. Security personnel were in a shelter during the air raid alert, so no one was injured.
Due to the need for urgent repairs, the administration has temporarily suspended the facility’s operations.
“Due to the damage, the facility will be temporarily closed on Monday and Tuesday. We will provide further updates on its future operations and any developments,” city officials noted.
The building of the Kyiv City State Administration’s Service for Children and Families in the Lukyanivka district also sustained damage again.
According to city authorities, this is the fifth instance of damage to the facility since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Following the latest strike, windows and doors were shattered, and ceilings and reception rooms were damaged.
Currently, utility services, representatives of district administrations, and volunteers are working at both sites to address the aftermath of the attack and help restore the institutions’ operations as quickly as possible.
