In Moscow, authorities are conducting a massive search for bombs under vehicles following the explosion of a car carrying a soldier

On Tuesday, June 9, three major incidents involving vehicles were reported in the Moscow region, causing panic among local residents and prompting security services to step up security measures. The series of events began with the elimination of a high-ranking Russian military official and continued with the detection of other suspicious objects.

Chronology and details of the incidents in the Russian capital:

  • Assassination of a Russian Defense Ministry official in Balashikha: Early in the morning in the Aviatorov neighborhood, a BMW X3 exploded while in motion. The driver died at the scene from his injuries—according to investigators and specialized media, the victim was Damir Davydov, head of the Supply Department of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense, who was responsible for supplying the occupying army with missiles and shells.

  • Controlled detonation in the Konkovo area: In southwest Moscow, in a parking lot near the intersection of Butlerova and Vvedenskogo streets, an incident occurred involving a premium Zeekr electric vehicle. Despite initial reports from civilian services of a routine fire in the engine compartment, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation later officially confirmed the discovery of a “suspicious object” under the vehicle, which military specialists had to destroy via a controlled detonation.

  • Large-scale evacuation of the "Nebo" shopping center in Solntsevo: Around 6:00 p.m. in western Moscow, law enforcement completely blocked Aviatorov Street and carried out an emergency evacuation of visitors from a large shopping and entertainment center. The cause was yet another “suspicious object” discovered under the undercarriage of one of the cars parked near the complex. In addition to the police, emergency services, and medical personnel, military explosive ordnance disposal experts arrived at the scene.

In Balashikha, near Moscow, a BMW X3 exploded on the morning of June 9, killing the driver. The incident occurred in the Aviatorov neighborhood on Koldunova Street.

In the city of Balashikha, Moscow Region, a high-ranking military officer—Russian Army Colonel Damir Davydov—was killed when his own car was blown up. The occupier headed the department for the supply of missiles and artillery ammunition within the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense
