Dissatisfaction with Putin is growing among Russia's elite — The Guardian

Disappointment with Putin is growing among Russia’s political and business elites due to the protracted war against Ukraine and the deteriorating economic situation in Russia.

This is reported by The Guardian.

According to the publication, sources connected to Kremlin circles speak of a shift in sentiment within the Russian dictator’s inner circle. Criticism is increasingly being voiced there over the ineffectiveness of the war, self-destructive decisions, and the lack of a clear vision for the future.

The publication’s sources claim that even those who previously openly supported Putin are now less and less likely to defend him.

At the same time, despite internal discontent, Putin has no intention of ending the war. According to sources, his main goal remains the complete occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

European intelligence agencies also suggest that the Kremlin may be considering broader military objectives if the situation on the front lines develops in Russia’s favor.

The article notes that an additional factor in the continuation of the war could be Putin’s loss of faith in Donald Trump’s ability to secure territorial concessions from Ukraine.

As a reminder, Russia attacked a substation in the Kramatorsk district with an FPV drone.

In the Zolochiv community of the Kharkiv region, a Russian drone attacked the Hryhorii Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum.
