The Belarusian opposition has reacted to Macron's conversation with Lukashenko
Belarusian opposition representative Pavel Latushko thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for sending a strong message to Alexander Lukashenko during a phone call.

According to him, the French leader warned Lukashenko against dragging Belarus into a war against Ukraine on the side of Russia.
Latushko emphasized that Lukashenko must be aware of the consequences of any aggressive actions or military provocations originating from Belarusian territory.
The opposition representative also stated that, in his opinion, the only language Lukashenko understands is the language of force and clear warnings.
Earlier, it was reported that Macron and Lukashenko had their first phone conversation in several years, during which they discussed the regional situation.
French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with Alexander Lukashenko at the initiative of the French side.
Alexander Lukashenko stated that he is allegedly ready to visit Ukraine and discuss relations with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In Kyiv, such statements were met with the utmost restraint and firmness, with officials reminding of Belarus’s role in the war.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated from Slavutych that Ukraine is ready to take preemptive action in the event of threats from Belarus and Russia’s border regions. According to him, the situation in the north requires additional strengthening of defenses and attention to community safety. The president also separately warned the Belarusian leadership of the possible consequences of any aggressive steps.
