Russia is attempting to draw Asian countries into a hybrid conflict with the West and justify its own aggressive policy toward Europe.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
The Center noted that during his speech at the Eurasian Security hearings, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the U.S. of allegedly creating an “Asian NATO” and issued threats against European states.
In particular, Lavrov stated that “armed conflict with Russia” has allegedly always ended badly for Europe.
The Center explained that with such statements, the Kremlin is attempting to portray the war against Ukraine as part of a broader global confrontation and to create the illusion of a new world order.
According to the Center, Moscow’s goal is to intimidate European countries, weaken support for Ukraine, and convince Asian states that Russia is supposedly their protector against the West.
The Center emphasized that in this way, the Russian authorities are attempting to blur their own responsibility for the aggression and find additional external support to continue the war.
The joint nuclear exercises between Russia and Belarus are part of a hybrid operation aimed at intimidating European states.
Russia’s escalating aggressive rhetoric toward the Baltic states may indicate preparations for new provocations against NATO member states.
