Export prices for beef from Ukraine have risen sharply
Beef export prices in Ukraine have risen significantly amid increased shipments and favorable conditions on the global market.
This was reported by the Milk Producers Association.
In March 2026, Ukraine exported 467.2 tons of fresh or chilled beef—more than double the amount exported in February. Revenue rose by 118% to $3.69 million.
Exports of frozen beef also increased—to 1,670 tons (+31% month-over-month)—generating nearly $7.37 million.
The rise in prices is due to the situation on the global market: the U.S. and Brazil are experiencing a shortage of livestock and high demand, which is driving prices up.
At the same time, export restrictions from the U.S. and consistently high demand from China are further driving up prices.
As a result, Ukrainian exporters have been able to increase shipments and boost foreign exchange earnings.
Over the past year, prices for meat and meat products in Ukraine have risen by up to 45% in some areas. Beef remains the most expensive—its price continues to hover at record levels. Experts predict that by the end of winter, meat prices could rise by another 5–7%.
Inflation in Ukraine: prices rose by 0.4% in November.
