China launches mass production of tractor and grain harvester — ECNS

In Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China has launched mass production of a high-power tractor with a powershift transmission and a large grain harvester. Both machines were developed by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Corporation Limited, ECNS reports.

Equipment for large farms

Both machines are manufactured in Xinjiang for large-scale agricultural operations. Company representatives said the equipment is capable of competing with high-tech international counterparts.

The tractor was designed with the challenging conditions of northwestern China in mind. It is equipped with an in-house-developed transmission, has a 46% torque reserve and a maximum steering angle of 50 degrees.

Harvesting four crops

The harvester is intended for harvesting wheat, corn, soybeans and rice. It has been fitted with an in-house-developed threshing and separation system designed to reduce grain damage and improve operational efficiency.

The tractor has already undergone field trials in Tacheng. According to ECNS, local farmers positively assessed its maneuverability and power. The report also notes that a number of smart agricultural machinery models have already replaced imported equipment and are being exported, including to Central Asia and South America.
