Grain conference in China ends with deals worth nearly $13 billion — ECNS
The 8th China Grain Trade Conference has concluded in Changsha, Hunan Province in central China. The total value of concluded deals and declared intentions reached 87.87 billion yuan, or about $12.96 billion, ECNS reports.
Grain and machinery trade
The three-day event facilitated trade in 29.2 million tonnes of grain and oil products, as well as 2,111 units of grain machinery. Transactions were conducted during in-person events and online sessions on the National Grain Trade Center platform.
The conference’s exhibition area covered about 100,000 square meters. According to the outlet, the event set a record in scale: 13 themed exhibition zones were organized, with more than 3,100 enterprises and over 20,000 industry representatives taking part.

Interregional and international cooperation
Conference participants signed 18 strategic cooperation agreements between provinces, six arrangements between government bodies and enterprises, 12 agreements between companies, six agreements to promote consumption, and seven university cooperation agreements in personnel training.
An international premium goods exhibition zone was also established at the event to strengthen ties in cross-border grain supply chains. In addition, a China-Kazakhstan grain trading platform was launched to provide a standardized channel for online trade.
A separate exhibition was dedicated to intelligent grain machinery. Participants also discussed the development of the full-cycle grain industry at the provincial level, including the challenges of industrialization, promotion, and matching supply with demand. Hunan Province has harvested more than 30 billion kilograms of grain annually for six consecutive years.
