Attacks on Russian oil infrastructure in April reached a four-month high – Bloomberg

Ukrainian strikes on enemy oil facilities in April were the most extensive since December, leading to a drop in crude oil processing to a multi-year low. At least 21 attacks on oil refineries, marine terminals, and oil pipeline infrastructure were recorded during the month.

Bloomberg reports this, noting that the goal of these actions is to reduce Moscow’s revenue from global oil markets.

Ukraine is employing a strategy of repeated strikes on the same targets to maximize damage and prevent rapid recovery. In particular, the Tuapse refinery halted operations after three attacks over the past two weeks, causing massive fires and an environmental crisis in the region. In addition to the refineries, five pumping stations deep within Russian territory were targeted; however, the Russian oil pipeline network demonstrated resilience, allowing oil flows to be rerouted and domestic supplies to be maintained.

Tuapse in flames: how strikes on the port are destroying the Kremlin’s oil exports.

Residents of Tuapse, Russia, are increasingly complaining about the unbearable living conditions in the frontline city. The once-popular resort has turned into an area of environmental disaster and constant danger due to regular explosions at local industrial facilities.

In Tuapse, Russia, the city beach was covered with a new layer of pebbles while cleaning up the aftermath of an oil spill. At the same time, local residents and environmentalists claim that traces of fuel oil are still visible near the water and that a full cleanup has not taken place.
