Iran has agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz as part of an agreement with the U.S. — Reuters
Tehran has received a draft of the initial informal framework agreement proposed by Washington.
This was reported by Reuters, citing Iranian state television.
The document states that Iran must restore commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz within one month to the level that existed prior to the escalation of hostilities. In response, the United States must withdraw its armed forces from areas adjacent to Iran and lift the naval blockade of the Islamic Republic.
It is separately noted that the management of vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz will be carried out by the Iranian side in coordination with Oman.
If the parties reach a final agreement within 60 days, it is planned to formalize it as a binding UN Security Council resolution.
