Israel will continue to attack Iran despite Trump's peace plans

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after speaking with Trump that the U.S. president sees an opportunity to turn his significant military achievements into a deal with Iran. But Israel will continue its strikes on targets in Lebanon and Iran.

According to CNN, during a televised address, the Israeli leader reported on his recent conversation with Trump, noting that successes in cooperation with the U.S. military could serve as leverage to achieve war objectives through diplomatic agreements.

At the same time, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will continue attacks in Iran and Lebanon to destroy missile and nuclear programs, as well as strike against the Hezbollah group. He stressed that the country will defend its interests under any circumstances, regardless of the course of negotiations. Previously, official Tehran had received calls from Russia for an immediate cessation of hostilities, yet the Israeli leadership continues to implement its operational strategy.

Separately, the prime minister announced the elimination of two Iranian nuclear scientists a few days ago and signaled further operations in this direction. These steps are part of the current phase aimed at degrading the Iranian regime’s defense capabilities, which also included recent massive strikes on IRGC headquarters in Tehran. While the U.S. declares the goal of destroying Iran’s naval and ballistic capabilities, Israel focuses on eliminating key threats to its national security.

It is worth noting that the U.S. and Israel have different objectives in the war against Iran.

Israel also bombed a port from which Iran was supplying weapons to Russia.
