Mágyar spoke out against Ukraine's rapid accession to the EU
Peter Magyar, leader of the Tisa Party, stated that he opposes Ukraine’s accelerated accession to the EU.
According to him, all countries must undergo the same accession procedure, and Hungary may hold a referendum on supporting Ukraine’s membership after Ukraine has fulfilled all the conditions.
Mátyás also commented on the issue of financial aid to Ukraine, specifically the decision regarding 90 billion euros.
He noted that this issue “will not be on the table” until a new government is formed, and Hungary will be temporarily excluded from negotiations among European partners.
In addition, the politician criticized the current government, stating that the decision regarding the €90 billion was made back in December 2025 but has not been implemented.
