Goldschmied was born in 1944 in Trieste and began his career in fashion by opening a denim store at the Cortina d’Ampezzo ski resort in the 1970s. Throughout his career, he actively experimented with fabric processing technologies, becoming the first to make jeans soft and comfortable. In addition to design, Goldschmid founded the innovative textile company House of Gold and mentored an entire generation of industry leaders, notably launching the career of Renzo Rosso. Until his final days, the designer worked on new projects, emphasizing the importance of a forward-looking approach and constant experimentation in fashion. His contribution forever changed the world’s perception of denim culture.
