RBC-Ukraine reports on the official U.S. position regarding the security situation at the plant.
According to a representative of the U.S. Department of Energy, in addition to technical aspects, the nuclear safety of the facility remains the top priority. The Westinghouse technologies used at the Zaporizhzhia NPP are critical to Ukraine’s energy independence, and their presence in the hands of the aggressor creates additional risks. Woltz emphasized that the circumstances surrounding the seizure of the American corporation’s property and the current state of the power units will be key topics in future international negotiations with Russia.
