Trump announced a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of negotiations

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a complete naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program. According to the U.S. leader, despite agreement on most issues, the key problem—the development of nuclear weapons—remained unresolved.

Trump wrote about this on his social media account.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. Navy will block the entry and exit of any vessels from the strait and will intercept ships in international waters that have paid illegal fees to Iran. The U.S. will also launch an operation to destroy mines laid by Iran, warning that anyone who opens fire on American or civilian vessels will be immediately destroyed. The president noted that other countries will join the blockade to put an end to Tehran’s demands regarding funding and nuclear ambitions.

At the same time, the White House declared that the armed forces are fully prepared for combat operations in the event of further escalation by Russia and its allies in the region. Trump emphasized that the situation has already devastated Iran’s economy, and the country’s leadership knows how to end the conflict. The blockade will begin shortly, and the U.S. reserves the right to completely destroy the remnants of Iran’s military capabilities at the appropriate moment. Currently, global energy markets are awaiting Tehran’s official response and the implications for global security.

Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, which lasted 21 hours in Islamabad, ended without results.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakai stated that significant differences on several strategic issues prevented the conclusion of an agreement with the United States in Islamabad.
