Ukraine is counting on Poland's support in its relations with Hungary — Tusk
Ukraine is counting on Poland’s support in improving relations with Hungary’s new government, which had previously been strained.
This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
According to him, this issue was discussed during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
Tusk noted that Kyiv is interested in improving cooperation with Hungary’s new Prime Minister Péter Magyar, as the strained relations previously affected a number of important decisions, particularly financial and political ones at the European Union level.
He emphasized that Poland is ready to help restore trust between Budapest and Kyiv, which, he said, would be beneficial for all of Europe.
The Polish prime minister also announced that he plans to meet with Magyar in Poland in the near future, during which the parties will discuss, among other things, Ukrainian-Hungarian relations.
Separately, Tusk added that during his conversation with Zelenskyy, they also discussed preparations for the conference on Ukraine’s recovery, which is scheduled to take place in June in Gdańsk.
