Schneider Electric begins sales of Schneider Charge home charging station
According to InsideEVs, Schneider Electric has begun selling the Schneider Charge home charging station for electric vehicles in the United States and Canada. The Level 2 device supports dynamic load balancing, and the CT clamps required for this are included in the package.
Load balancing
Two current transformer clamps allow the charging station to account for the available capacity of the main electrical panel and avoid exceeding the set safe limit. For example, if the main circuit breaker is rated at 200 amps and the house is consuming 160 amps at a given moment, the charger can use the remaining available current to charge the vehicle.
When electricity consumption in the house decreases, Schneider Charge can increase charging power within the available load. The CT clamps must be connected by wires to the charger's main board, so additional cables need to be run between the main electrical panel and the station.

Specifications and comparison with Tesla
Schneider Charge delivers up to 11.5 kW of power at 48 amps. Buyers can choose a model with either an NACS or J1772 connector. The station has a 25-foot cable, is designed for hardwired installation, and can be installed indoors or outdoors. A mobile app is provided for planning and managing charging.
Schneider Charge costs $695. The Tesla Wall Connector costs $535, but requires an additional Tesla Remote Meter device costing $210 for dynamic load balancing. The Remote Meter transmits data to the Wall Connector wirelessly, which may simplify installation. Schneider Electric said that a plug-in version of its charging station is expected to be released in early 2027.
