Xiaomi unveils refreshed SU7 electric sedan with extended range
Xiaomi has announced an updated version of its SU7 electric sedan, scheduled for release in April 2026. The new model will feature an extended driving range of up to 902 kilometers on a single charge and will be equipped with lidars, sensors, and autonomous driving systems—marking a significant step in strengthening its position in China’s electric vehicle market.

The base version of the SU7 available for pre-order will cost 229,900 yuan (around $33,000), which is 14,000 yuan (about $2,000) higher than the previous iteration. This price increase narrows the gap with the Tesla Model 3; the difference will now be only 5,600 yuan (approximately $800), compared to 19,600 yuan before.
This update is expected to intensify competition between Xiaomi and Tesla in the rapidly growing Chinese electric car market. Increased rivalry should accelerate technological advancements and could lead to more competitive pricing in the near future.
