In downtown Kyiv, a drunk man opened fire from a balcony
In downtown Kyiv, a 41-year-old man under the influence of alcohol fired a shot from the window of a high-rise building toward a parked Audi Q8 after a dispute with a neighbor. No one was injured in the incident.
The incident occurred in the evening in the courtyard of a high-rise building on Sichovykh Striltsiv Street.
According to law enforcement officials, the 41-year-old Kyiv resident was intoxicated when a dispute arose with his neighbor. After the argument, the man took a firearm, went out onto the balcony, and fired a shot toward a parked Audi Q8 belonging to his opponent.
“The incident occurred in the evening in the courtyard of a high-rise building on Sichovykh Striltsiv Street. A 41-year-old Kyiv resident, while under the influence of alcohol, got into an argument with a neighbor, after which he took a firearm, went out onto the balcony, and fired a shot in the direction of a parked Audi Q8 belonging to the victim,” the police stated.
Law enforcement officials determined that the firearm was officially registered and that the man had the appropriate permit to possess it.
Despite the shot being fired, no one was injured.
Patrol officers and an investigative team arrived promptly at the scene. During the investigation, police seized the carbine from the man.
Investigators have initiated the appropriate legal proceedings regarding the shooting.
“Investigators from the Shevchenkivskyi Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, notified the suspect of charges under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism,” the department emphasized.
Thus, the man is charged with hooliganism for firing shots from a balcony following a conflict with a neighbor. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.

As a reminder, a shooting occurred in the Svyatoshynsky District of Kyiv on the morning of September 3, resulting in one person being wounded. The perpetrator fled after the incident and is currently being sought by law enforcement.
A video of the conflict, which included gunfire and involved officers from the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate in Kyiv, is circulating online. The released footage shows a verbal altercation and shoving match between those involved in the incident, which later escalated into the use of firearms by SBU special forces against GUR operatives.
As a reminder, a shooting occurred in Kyiv, and security forces were spotted at the scene.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the shooting between representatives of the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate in Kyiv “absolutely shameful” and ordered a full investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
