Assia Akhat revealed where her husband is living during the war
Ukrainian singer and violinist Assia Akhat revealed where her husband, Igor Balenko, is living during the full-scale war. According to the artist, he remains in Ukraine, while she herself regularly travels between Ukraine and the United States.
Akhat noted that she returns to her homeland about every one and a half to two months. She said that for about four and a half years now, she has been dividing her time between the two countries—roughly half a year in each.
The singer explained that her family, friends, and home are in Ukraine. She also noted that she lives near the Motherland Monument and, because of this, has a strong sense of what is happening in Kyiv.
In the coming weeks, Akhat plans to travel to the U.S. again, but she wants to return to Ukraine in December. The artist added that she would gladly live in her homeland, since her home and loved ones are there.
