Shmyhal Announced the Amount Allocated for the Energy Sector in the 2027 Budget
The draft state budget of Ukraine for 2027 allocates nearly 100 billion hryvnia to support the energy sector. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the planned funding.
Specifically, the following amounts are allocated:
- 60 billion hryvnia — for the protection and restoration of energy facilities following Russian attacks and the development of distributed gas-fired generation, which, according to Shmyhal, is a priority;
- 8.8 billion hryvnia — funds from international partners for the development of Ukrenergo, Ukrnafta, and Ukrhydroenergo, specifically to increase capacity and accelerate integration into the European Union’s energy markets and power grid;
- over 2.6 billion UAH — funds for grant projects for businesses and the housing stock aimed at improving energy efficiency and energy security;
- 3.2 billion UAH — for the maintenance of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant;
- 2.1 billion UAH — for the coal industry, specifically for miners’ wages;
- 700 million hryvnias — for additional payments to energy workers involved in emergency repair and restoration work.

Earlier, Russia attacked Izyum with KAB bombs; among the victims was a two-month-old infant.
On September 10, in the Svyatoshynsky district of Kyiv, a drone crashed in an open area in the woods near a shopping center. According to preliminary reports, there was no fire and no casualties.
In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
