Ukrainians' microloan debt has risen to 27.6 billion hryvnia

In 2025, Ukrainians took out more than 8.6 million microloans totaling 56.76 billion hryvnias.

This was reported by "OpenDataBot."

The number of loans increased by 3%, and the total market volume by 10%.

On average, about 720,000 loans were issued each month, which is still below pre-war levels.

The average loan amount was 6,600 UAH and increased over the course of the year.

Total debt to microfinance organizations reached 27.65 billion UAH—a third more than a year earlier.

The most popular loans have terms ranging from three months to one year, accounting for 61% of all contracts.

At the same time, the number of long-term loans—for 2–3 years—rose sharply, increasing 36-fold.

The top ten MFOs generated over 18.5 billion UAH in revenue, and profits rose to 1.8 billion UAH.

The lending trend in Ukraine remains strong, as in December 2025, the volume of hryvnia-denominated loans to businesses and households increased by a third.

The share of non-performing loans (NPLs) in the Ukrainian banking sector fell to 25% as of October 1, 2025, marking the best result in the past decade.
