According to CME FedWatch data, the US Federal Reserve has about an 80% chance of keeping the benchmark interest rate unchanged at its meeting on 28 January 2026. This points to a strong market consensus on maintaining the current rate level, which is crucial for economic forecasting.

The probability of a rate cut is estimated at around 20%, indicating expected stability in monetary policy for the near future. The market expects the rate to remain within the 3.50–3.75% range, influencing investor and business decisions.

Therefore, the upcoming Fed meeting is unlikely to bring unexpected rate changes, reducing market volatility and supporting predictability in monetary policy.
