FSDH also facilitates the issuance of a Certificate of Capital Importation, documentation concerning foreign capital brought into Nigeria for investment. The report states that this document is required for the subsequent transfer abroad of funds to which the investor is entitled.
Currency and security warnings
The investment is denominated in Nigerian naira. The amount an investor will be able to receive in another currency when repatriating funds will depend on the exchange rate and the availability of foreign currency at that time.
Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission warned IPO participants to use only officially designated subscription channels and to verify the authenticity of websites and platforms before providing personal or payment data. The regulator also warned about the risks of offers via WhatsApp, email, and social media, including promises of guaranteed or preferential share allocations.
