Gold-backed stablecoins capitalization surpasses $4 billion
Since the beginning of 2025, the capitalization of gold-backed stablecoins has tripled, exceeding $4 billion. This reflects growing investor interest in crypto projects backed by gold.
The market leader is Tether’s XAUT with a capitalization of about $2.2 billion, accounting for roughly 50% of the entire gold stablecoin segment. The second place is held by Paxos Gold (PAXG) with $1.5 billion. Together, these two projects control nearly 90% of the sector.
This capitalization growth indicates steady demand for gold-backed stablecoins, which could encourage further development of financial instruments in this space and attract new investors to the crypto market.
