Exchange rates as of May 13: The dollar has jumped, while the euro is falling

The morning of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, brought Ukrainians a significant correction in the foreign exchange market.

While the value of the U.S. dollar at the teller windows of major banks remains stable, the European currency has lost significant value, becoming more affordable for buyers.

PrivatBank led the decline, dropping the cash exchange rate for the euro by 15 kopecks at once.

Now, at the bank’s teller windows, the EU currency can be purchased for 52.00 UAH, while the non-cash rate in the app remains at 52.08 UAH.

Oschadbank followed suit, with the euro’s value in its mobile app also dropping to 52.00 UAH.

At the same time, the state-owned bank slightly raised the dollar exchange rate for smartphone transactions—it increased by 5 kopecks and currently stands at 44.20 UAH.

At currency exchange offices on the morning of May 13, there was a slight increase in the dollar’s value, with the average buying rate at 43.87 UAH.

However, the euro has also fallen by 8 kopecks here, settling at 51.80 UAH, making currency exchange offices the most profitable place to buy the European currency.

The overall situation in the banking sector is as follows: the average selling rate for the dollar is 44.19 UAH, and for the euro—52.00 UAH.

At the same time, financial institutions are actively buying currency from the public: they are offering about 43.75 UAH for the dollar and 51.50 UAH for the euro.

For those planning to buy currency today, the most attractive rates for the dollar are offered by currency exchange offices (43.87 UAH) and the commercial rate at PUMB Bank (44.10 UAH).

As for the euro, in addition to currency exchange offices with their rate of 51.80 UAH, it is worth paying attention to PrivatBank branches and the Oschad app, where the rate is 52.00 UAH.

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for May 13.
