Mastercard launches blockchain platform for fast international transfers
Mastercard has introduced a new blockchain initiative for rapid international payments, with Binance, PayPal and Ripple already joining the project. The aim is to make money transfers almost instantaneous and to reduce fees to below 1%.
The project plans to combine the liquidity of cryptocurrency exchanges, the vast PayPal user base, and Ripple’s cross-border payment technology. This approach is expected to significantly speed up financial transactions across borders and lower costs for users.
The launch of this platform is anticipated to create new opportunities for global payments, enhancing transparency and accessibility worldwide.
