Ray Dalio on the end of the old world order and the risks of war
American billionaire investor and hedge fund manager of Bridgewater Associates, Ray Dalio, stated that the old order established after World War II is considered dead by most world leaders. He emphasized that we are now in the sixth stage of a major cycle, characterized by a lack of clear rules, where power overrides law, and great powers are entering confrontations.
Dalio points out that economic wars usually precede actual military conflicts. He draws a parallel between today’s situation and the 1930s, when trade wars, technological disputes, capital competition, and geopolitical conflicts lasted about ten years before leading to the outbreak of real war in 1939.
The analyst predicts that current global tensions may escalate as the absence of clear rules fosters increasing conflicts among major global players.
