Slovak developer embeds 66 KB image directly into Bitcoin transaction

A Slovak developer experimentally embedded a 66 KB TIFF image directly into a Bitcoin transaction, bypassing Taproot, OPRETURN, and the restrictions proposed by BIP-110. This experiment highlights the openness of the blockchain and demonstrates that no technical restrictions can completely prevent data insertion into the blockchain.

Inside the transaction is an image of a crying Luke Dashjr, a prominent supporter of BIP-110, serving as subtle trolling of the ongoing struggle against “spam” at the consensus layer. The experiment shows that even with soft forks designed to limit unwanted data, users will still find ways to embed information within the blockchain.

This case illustrates that software-level network restrictions are not a cure-all for preventing undesired data recording in blocks. Consequently, future efforts to regulate transaction content may require more comprehensive solutions or architectural changes to the network itself.
