Belarus allows crypto banks to pay self-employed and issue crypto balance cards

In Belarus, crypto banks are now authorized to make payments to self-employed individuals and issue cards with cryptocurrency balances. This was made possible by a new presidential decree from Alexander Lukashenko, allowing self-employed persons to receive payments in cryptocurrency through licensed crypto banks, ensuring transparent and legal transactions.

Payments will be conducted via regulated banks with expert support from the High-Tech Park. Additionally, crypto banks will be able to issue cards usable for payments in regular stores, greatly expanding the everyday usability of cryptocurrencies.

This move reflects Belarus’s intent to promote the development of the crypto sector and integrate digital currencies into the national economy, potentially facilitating further legalization and popularisation of cryptocurrencies among the public.
