In the United States, inflation is typically calculated based on over 90,000 monthly price indicators. However, when some data are unavailable, estimated values—around 10% of all data—are used. In November, for the fifth consecutive time, more than 30% of data were based on estimations, raising concerns about official statistics.

Consequently, despite official claims of falling inflation, Americans continue to see real price increases in stores, which may soon contradict the government’s reported figures. This practice casts doubts on the reliability of official inflation data.

In the near future, intensified criticism of official statistics and potential revisions of inflation measurement methods may be expected.
