TCS unit to invest up to $7.4 billion in AI data center campus in India
HyperVault, a unit of India’s Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), together with partners plans to invest up to 700 billion rupees, or $7.41 billion, in creating an artificial intelligence data center campus in the Indian state of Telangana. Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.

The project involves the construction of a 1-gigawatt complex. HyperVault has received a 264-acre site for it in Hyderabad. The campus will be developed in stages.
The facility is aimed at companies working with artificial intelligence, as well as hyperscalers. The infrastructure is expected to support high-density deployment of graphics processing units for AI model training and inference.

TCS plans
Once fully operational, the campus could become one of India’s largest artificial intelligence infrastructure facilities, HyperVault said. TCS CEO K. Krithivasan noted that Hyderabad has the necessary scale, talent pool and ecosystem to serve global clients.
The announcement came several days after TCS agreed to acquire Porsche AG’s automotive and consulting unit, MHP. The company is expanding its offering beyond traditional IT services.
