In Singapore, telecommunications company Simba reported a data breach affecting 23,549 of its customers. The compromised information includes users' names, identity card numbers and dates of birth.
What data the incident affected
As Channel NewsAsia reports, according to the company's internal investigation, the incident also involved the mobile phone numbers and email addresses of customers who signed up for Simba services.
Simba said that credit card or bank account details are not at risk. The company also said it currently has no indications of malicious use of the data affected by the incident.

Company actions after the incident
Simba said it discovered the incident on September 24 and has since resolved the issue. The company is reviewing existing security measures to protect critical infrastructure and systems, and is also cooperating with the relevant authorities.
The operator has begun notifying affected customers by email in stages. It plans to complete sending such notifications within the next week.
