Red Dunes Games announces nine games at Tokyo Game Show — The National

Emirati video game publisher Red Dunes Games has announced nine projects at Tokyo Game Show 2026 in Japan. The company’s booth in Hall 7 of the Makuhari Messe exhibition complex became one of the largest in its section: it featured screens, games for demonstrations and developers from several countries, The National reports.

Game lineup

The announced projects include Port of Jumanah, Zozo and the Lost Dreams and Nightmare Circus. The lineup also includes Blades of Mirage, being created together with Indonesian studio Agate, LightSup! by Thailand’s BugBlio Studio, and Poacher by South Korean solo developer Joe Yu.

Red Dunes is also presenting Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past!, developed by Dutch studio Blast Zero. It is a two-dimensional action role-playing game that revives Tatsunoko Production’s 1990s anime Kyatto Ninden Teyandee, known outside Japan as Samurai Pizza Cats. Red Dunes co-founder Mohammed Al Jneibi said the Japanese audience’s response to the game was greater than the company had expected.

Expanding its presence

UAE Ambassador to Japan Shihab Al Fahim said he had watched Red Dunes develop at Tokyo Game Show over several years. According to him, during its first participation the company had only one space, while this year its booth became the second largest in the hall.

The booth’s design was intended to emphasize the publisher’s connection with Abu Dhabi. Al Jneibi said its creation was guided by hospitality, friendliness and a sense of discovery, with the souks of the Mina Zayed district serving as inspiration.

Company co-founder Sultan Al Darmaki said the next stage for Red Dunes should be the creation of games on a much larger scale. He also said the company was working with several well-known international intellectual properties, without disclosing details. In his assessment, major publishers are increasingly turning to projects with a more manageable scale, while reviving old franchises and testing new ones.
