Israeli startup Loora raises $22m in Series B round — Jerusalem Post
Israeli startup Loora, which develops an app for practicing spoken English with an AI tutor, has raised $22 million in a Series B funding round. As reported by the Jerusalem Post, the company’s total disclosed funding exceeded $43 million after this round.
The round was led by Union Tech Ventures. vgames also participated, along with existing investors Emerge, Hearst Ventures and QP Ventures. Loora plans to use the funds raised for research and development, as well as to accelerate growth in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Expansion plans
The company intends to approximately double its workforce over the next six months. It primarily plans to hire specialists in research and development in artificial intelligence and learning science.
Loora was founded in 2020 by CEO Roy Mor and CTO Yonti Levin. According to the company, its service is used by more than 15 million people worldwide. Previously, the startup raised $9.25 million in a seed round and $12 million in a Series A round in 2024.

Practicing English with AI
The Loora app enables users to hold conversations in English with artificial intelligence and receive feedback on grammar, pronunciation and fluency. The system adapts conversation topics to the user’s language proficiency level and interests. The service is aimed primarily at adults who want to improve their spoken English for job interviews, professional presentations and workplace communication.
Loora said that users have held more than 200 million conversations with its AI system. The company also reported that its revenue more than doubled over the past 12 months, while annual recurring revenue is measured in tens of millions of dollars. These financial figures were provided by the private company itself and are not independently disclosed.
Loora said that over the past year it has also developed its work with organizations and cooperates with more than 100 companies, governments and universities. The company notes that 72% of its users cite career advancement as the main reason for learning English.
