McDonald's in Ukraine is bringing back country-style fries and chicken wings
The McDonald's fast-food chain in Ukraine is launching "Ukrainian Weeks" starting July 22. The menu will feature new “Sviy” burgers, country-style fries, chicken wings, and horseradish and garlic sauces.
“Ukrainian Weeks” is a limited-edition series of products inspired by the flavors that Ukrainians know and love. “This isn’t an attempt to recreate traditional dishes—it’s a story about love and respect for ‘our own,’” according to the official press release.
At the heart of “Ukrainian Weeks” are two new burgers: “Sviy with Chicken and Garlic Sauce” on a rye bun and “Sviy with Vegetables and Pork” on a burgundy-colored bun. Both burgers can be ordered à la carte or as part of a set menu, the company said.
Country-style potatoes and chicken wings will return to the menu.
“Country-style fries will be available in a large portion either à la carte or as part of a meal deal, and chicken wings can be ordered in portions of three or five pieces, added to a meal, or enjoyed as part of the ‘Chicken Box with Wings,’" McDonald’s added.
Two new sauces will also be added to the lineup: a horseradish and herb sauce and a garlic and dill sauce.
The new menu will be available at all open McDonald’s restaurants in Ukraine until supplies last, the chain clarified in a comment to EP.
The McDonald’s restaurant chain is resuming operations in Ternopil and Boryspil.
As a reminder, on September 20, McDonald’s opened three restaurants on the left bank of the capital after suspending operations in February due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Within 20 minutes of opening, the delivery service ran out of couriers.
On September 27, seven more McDonald’s restaurants resumed operations in Kyiv.
