Ukraine's largest mobile operator has purchased six solar power plants at once

Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile operator, has acquired six solar power plants (SPPs) with a combined installed capacity of 105 MW in the Lviv region.

The total value of this large-scale investment deal amounted to 3.6 billion hryvnias, equivalent to 80.8 million U.S. dollars.

This acquisition marks another step for the operator in implementing its long-term strategy for energy independence.

Taking into account the initial purchase in December 2025 of the 13-MW “Sunwin 11” SPP in the Zhytomyr region, Kyivstar’s total “green” generation capacity has grown to 118 MW.

This capacity enables the production of electricity equivalent to approximately 30% of the company’s current annual consumption.

All electricity generated by the acquired group of solar power plants will be fed into Ukraine’s integrated power grid in accordance with current market and regulatory rules.

The management of the telecommunications giant notes that integrating the new facilities into the overall grid will allow Kyivstar to partially hedge against risks associated with fluctuations in electricity prices.

The project is not only commercially significant but also has important national significance for stabilizing Ukraine’s power grid.

Kyivstar acquired the Tabletki.ua service for $160 million

Mobile operator Kyivstar is raising the prices of certain rate plans that have remained unchanged for over a year. The new prices will take effect on a specific date to be announced by the company.

As a reminder, Uklon generated over $21 million in revenue for Kyivstar in the second quarter of 2025.
