The National Bank has devalued the hryvnia against the euro and the dollar
The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar for Wednesday, April 1, at 43.9175 UAH
This is according to data from the NBU website.
, the Ukrainian currency declined in value after a brief strengthening. The hryvnia’s exchange rate against the euro also fell by 14 kopecks, reaching 50.4546 UAH per euro.
These changes occurred following interbank trading. Earlier, on March 13, the regulator recorded a historic low for the national currency against the dollar at 44.1636 UAH/$, while the record low against the euro was set on February 19 at 51.2577 UAH. For the first time in history, the official exchange rate of the U.S. dollar fell below the psychological threshold of 44 UAH per dollar in March of this year.
Prior to this, the National Bank of Ukraine had recorded a slight strengthening of the national currency on the country’s foreign exchange market.
Europe is also preparing to abandon the dollar due to the threat of financial isolation by the U.S.
