RBM appoints Bayanda Mnkwangwo as managing director in South Africa — TimesLIVE
In South Africa, mining company Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), part of the Rio Tinto group, has appointed Bayanda Mnkwangwo as managing director. He is due to take up the position in October, TimesLIVE reports. The company said the appointment is intended to support its growth.

For Mnkwangwo, this will be a return to Richards Bay Minerals: he previously served as the company’s chief operating officer. He has 25 years of experience in the mining industry.

Mnkwangwo will replace Wilhelmina Ngcobo, who has been acting managing director since July. She temporarily took up the role after Werner Duvenhage’s departure.
Projects and investments
Sophie Bergeron, managing director of Rio Tinto Iron & Titanium, said that Mnkwangwo is returning to RBM at an important time for the company. According to her, RBM is advancing the Zulti South project and a decarbonisation programme, while continuing to invest in local procurement, entrepreneurship development and partnerships with communities.
