TikTok US Valued at $14bn Following Trump’s Deal

TikTok US will be valued at around $14bn under a deal brokered by Donald Trump’s administration, which requires Chinese parent ByteDance to reduce its control over the American arm. According to the White House, Oracle, Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi’s MGX sovereign fund will be among the lead investors.
According to the “Financial Times”
Trump said he had spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping and received a “go-ahead” for the deal. Still, negotiations faced resistance from Beijing and criticism in Washington, where some lawmakers have pushed for a full severance of TikTok from Chinese ownership.
Under the agreement, Oracle will oversee TikTok’s US algorithms and data privacy. The deal also includes participation from new investors such as Michael Dell and Rupert Murdoch, ensuring TikTok US gains financial backing and the opportunity to remain active in the American market.
