Prices for domestically grown greenhouse tomatoes have fallen in Ukraine
The wholesale price of tomatoes in Ukraine has fallen by an average of 13% over the past week due to a seasonal increase in supply from local greenhouse farms. Currently, domestic produce is being offered for sale at prices ranging from 140 to 170 UAH/kg, a trend made possible by favorable conditions and subdued demand.

The increase in market supply has also forced importers to lower the price of Turkish tomatoes, which are now available starting at 100 UAH/kg, although their availability on store shelves remains limited. In supermarkets, retail prices for imported produce from Turkey and Spain currently range from 169.9 to 189.89 UAH/kg, depending on the retail chain. Experts note that despite the current price drop, Ukrainian vegetables are 60% more expensive than they were at the end of April 2025.
Further price reductions are expected as harvest volumes increase in Ukrainian farms affected by energy challenges due to Russian aggression. Gradual warming allows greenhouse growers to reduce heating costs, which positively impacts production costs. Analysts predict that the downward trend in tomato prices will continue over the coming weeks. Consumers are advised to look for promotional offers at retailers to save money.
