Varus is acquiring the "Kolo" chain for more than $20 million

The Varus supermarket chain has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the corporate rights of Ariteil LLC, which operates the “Kolo” neighborhood store chain. The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has already granted approval for the merger.

BGV Group Management, which previously owned the “Kolo” chain, confirmed the deal. The companies describe it as one of the largest in the Ukrainian retail market in 2026.

Currently, the “Kolo” chain comprises 254 stores in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, Odesa, and the Odesa region. They serve over 70,000 customers daily, and the company employs more than 1,100 people.

Varus stated that, following the completion of the deal, it plans to retain the “Kolo” team, gradually integrate the chain, and expand its product range, digital services, logistics, and loyalty programs. The company promises to make the transition as seamless as possible for customers.

The transaction amount has not been officially disclosed. According to NV Business, market participants estimate it at approximately $20–30 million. The publication notes that “Kolo” operates in one of the most competitive segments of the Ukrainian retail market—the “convenience store” format.

Following the acquisition, Varus will significantly strengthen its position in this segment. Prior to the deal, the chain had about 120 supermarkets, and with the addition of “Kolo” stores, its market presence will grow substantially.
